California Turkish American Chamber of Commerce hosted Minister of State Zafer Caglayan responsible for foreign trade, Turkish Consul General Hakan Tekin, a trade delegation comprised of officials from Turkish Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade, newly appointed Commercial Attache for Turkiye - Yavuz Mollasalihoglu, president Mehmet Buyukeksi and his fellow board members of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), president of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MUSIAD)- Omer Vardan, and many other representatives of prominent export organizations on July 20, 2010. Following his program in Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Port of Los Angeles, Minister Caglayan and the trade envoy attended the luncheon held by CATA Chamber to meet Turkish-American businesspeople. Here, CATA Chamber President Dr. Remzi Oten briefly introduced the role and activities of California Turkish American Chamber of Commerce, and Board Member Savas Yilmaz delivered a presentation on California and its economic significance. After these speeches, another activity which was mainly sponsored by CATA Chamber, Anatolian Cultures and Food Festival, was presented by the chairman of the festival's organization committee, Kemal Cem. In his speech, Minister Caglayan highlighted the importance of organizations such as CATA Chamber, and underlined the significance of its ConnecTA International Business Networking and Reception event which brought 250 businesspeople from 6 countries together to help create new business opportunities and to promote investment options in Turkiye, and stated that they will be actively supporting the next year's event. Turkish Consul General Hakan Tekin expressed his thanks to CATA Chamber for its efforts as well, along with Minister Caglayan. The event had wide media coverage as well.
